About Intrepid Travel
Founded by two Australian friends, Darrell and Geoff, in 1989, Intrepid Travel* is a specialist in small group trips and adventures, serving up an extensive list of itineraries that covers every destination from Malta to the Maldives.
Some of the different trip themes* on offer from Intrepid include cruises, cycling, food, walking and wildlife, with options available for families, 18 to 35s and solo travellers, too.
Whether you fancy hiking and biking around Morocco, polar cruising around the Arctic islands or sampling the delicious cuisine of Vietnam, there are so many carefully crafted, must-do itineraries on offer from Intrepid Travel.
Intrepid's group sizes are usually between 12 and 16 people, providing an intimate setting for travellers to meet like-minded individuals while exploring the world.
Intrepid Travel has also aspired to be a climate-conscious travel leader since 2005 and joined the B Corp* community in 2018.

What's included?
All Intrepid Travel holidays include accommodation for every night of your tour and transport between stops during your trip. However, flights to and from the starting point will generally need to be organised yourself unless you've booked a flight and tour package.
The Intrepid Travel team is happy to help if you need some assistance with booking an international flight. You can also book transfers to and from your trip at an additional cost (if your trip doesn't already include transfers).
What else is included in your Intrepid Travel adventure depends on the style* and theme of your trip. Usually, some activities and meals will be included. To find out more about what's included in your trip, please refer to the ‘Inclusions and activities' section on your trip page.

FAQs
Do solo travellers have to share a room?
Intrepid Travel organises its rooms on a twin-share basis. This means solo travellers* are paired with other solo travellers of the same gender. If you'd prefer your own room, most trips offer the option to pay a single supplement, which can be purchased at the time of booking.
Some itineraries and accommodations offer an open-gender, multi-share policy. If this is the case, the information will be clearly stated in the Essential Trip Information section before you book.
Will there be Wi-Fi on my trip?
This depends on where you're travelling to. Some destinations* will feature hot spots everywhere, while others may offer very little coverage. If this is the case, you can always use the opportunity to explore your surroundings and get to know fellow travellers in your group.
If you need to recharge your phone, tablet or other electronics, you should be able to do so in your hotel. Many vehicles on Intrepid Travel's overland trips offer their own power supply to help you recharge on the go.
Do I need to tip?
Tipping is customary in most places, and your leader will be able to advise on local tipping etiquette at your welcome meeting. If you'd like to tip your leader at the end of your trip, it's not compulsory, but it's always appreciated and goes a long way to keeping Intrepid Travel's service* as good as it is.
