Vilnius tops report into Europe's cheapest Christmas markets

The Post Office Travel Money Christmas Markets Report 2025 has revealed the best value Christmas markets across Europe, with the Lithuanian capital taking top spot.

The annual report has compared several factors from flights to snacks across 15 popular European cities to see where your money goes furthest.

The report considered the cost of a two-night weekend stay, including flights, accommodation and transfers, as well as evening meals, festive drinks and snacks, and the results offer some tasty, affordable options for a festive city break.

Vilnius and the Latvian capital of Riga take the first two spots, pushing 2024 leader, Bratislava in Slovakia, down to third place.

The report also showed that prices are down on last year across half of the cities surveyed, although fewer flights have made Prague a more expensive option than previously.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Vienna and Copenhagen, renowned for their hefty price tags, take the fourteenth and fifteenth spots, respectively. You can see the complete list of best value Christmas markets across Europe from the Post Office Travel Money report below:
