About Big Bus Tours

Big Bus Tours* is the largest open-top sightseeing bus operator, offering tours around some of the world's biggest cities. Operating across four continents, it gives travellers the chance to explore and learn about different destinations, with the option to hop on and hop off at landmarks and stop-off points along the way.

Run by siblings Richard, Eleanor and Desmond Maybury, Big Bus Tours was officially founded in 2011 after two sightseeing businesses, the London-based Big Bus Company Ltd and the Paris-based Les Cars Rouges, decided to come together to create a bus tour brand with a modern twist. Its philosophy is to ‘think global and act local'.

A selection of the cities Big Bus Tours operates in are Paris, Rome, Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas, Dubai, Sydney and Singapore.

Do children need a ticket to travel?

Different pricing applies for different tours*. For example, on New York buses, all children aged three to 12 must purchase a child ticket to travel. Infants aged two and under travel free of charge. Meanwhile, children aged five and under travel free of charge on Berlin buses. Check the individual Big Bus page for more information. Also, all buggies must be folded and stowed on the lower deck during travel.

Do I need to book a specific date for my tour?

Yes, you'll need to choose a specific date for your tour when booking your ticket*. Some tours may also require you to select a travel time to ensure your seat is secured.

If you wish to change the date (and time) of your bus tour booking, you can do so for no extra charge if your ticket is ‘fully flexible'. If your ticket is not ‘fully flexible', charges may apply for changing the date of your bus tour.

Are Big Bus Tours' buses available for private hire?

Yes, Big Bus Tours' buses* are available for private hire. Most open-top buses can accommodate up to 60 guests on the upper deck and offer multiple pick-up and drop-off points.

Buses can be hired for an hour or a full day. There's also an option to add a live guide to accompany your tour for an extra cost.
