Mozambique weather overview
Mozambique is a large country on the east coast of Africa more or less opposite Madagascar with a 1,200 mile coastline and a tropical climate. There is a single rainy season from November to March but, on the north coast, this lengthens by a few weeks and can bring cyclones. The highlands and south coast bear the brunt of the rains.
Temperatures along the coastal lowlands vary: conditions can be warm and pleasant (thanks to sea breezes) or insufferably hot and sweaty during the rainy season when humidity is intense. On higher ground, days are hot but nights cooler with lower humidity.
What to pack for Mozambique weather
Take light clothing with some warm cover-ups for the highland evenings, together with waterproofs if travelling in the rainy season.
