About Ferryscanner
Established in 2018, Ferryscanner* helps you compare ferry routes to find the best price. It's an online marketplace, which allows you to browse fares from more than a hundred of the world's leading ferry companies, including Red Funnel Ferries*, DFDS* and P&O Ferries*.

Its head office is based in Athens, Greece, so, naturally, routes between the mainland and Greek islands are well served. You can also explore the British Isles, plan a no-fly holiday on the continent or cross the Mediterranean to sun-soaked destinations such as Turkey and Morocco.
Why book with Ferryscanner?
Ferryscanner puts no fewer than 4,500 ferry routes from 125 providers at your fingertips, all in one place, allowing you to easily find the best route at the best price. Book a single crossing, round trip or plan a multi-stop adventure.

It's free to cancel most journeys if your plans change, and Ferryscanner's support team is just a click away, five days a week. Ferryscanner has helped over one million passengers get from A to B, scoring it over four stars on both Google and Trustpilot.

FAQs
How soon before departure can I book a ferry?
If you fancy a spontaneous trip from Athens to Santorini*, most ferries can be booked until one or two hours before departure, meaning you're free to be last-minute with your travel plans, as long as there's availability. Just note that you will get the best price by booking a bit further in advance.
What if I need to book a vehicle for just one leg of my trip?
If you're only travelling with a vehicle for one leg of your trip, you will need to make two separate bookings: one for the part of the journey you'll be making with the vehicle and one for the remainder of the journey you will be making as a foot passenger.
How long before departure do I need to check in?
It depends on the ferry company*, destination and whether or not you're travelling in a vehicle. Typically, foot passengers should arrive between 30 to 60 minutes before departure, and vehicles should check in between 60 to 90 minutes in advance.
On international routes, passengers are usually required to arrive at least 90 minutes ahead of departure to allow time for clearing customs and immigration.
