About Butlin's

Few British holiday resorts can rival the long-standing popularity of Butlin's. Founded by Billy Butlin in 1936, the aim was to offer affordable and accessible holidays for all with plenty of activities and entertainment on-site to help families make the most of their break together.

Butlin's was also to be about top quality service and, so, the famous Butlin's Redcoats were born. These, quite literally, redcoat-clad members of staff soon became renowned for their hospitality and making families and guests feel right at home during their stay at Butlin's.

While the way families holiday may have changed, and what Butlin's has to offer has evolved, the core values of what Butlin's stood for when first established remain. Today, you can experience a wonderful seaside family escape at three Butlin's resorts including the original Skegness in Lincolnshire, Bognor Regis in West Sussex and Minehead in Somerset.

There are three resorts to choose from when it comes to deciding where to enjoy a Butlin's break. Take your pick from the following:

Butlin's Skegness was the first resort and it's easy to see why this spot was chosen. Right on the shores of the Blue Flag-winning Skegness Beach, a long golden arc of sand that was made from sandcastles and watersports, the resort is also close to Lincoln.

There's a mix of activities on offer at Skegness from the traditional fairground complete with vintage stalls and games to the likes of high ropes, climbing walls, bowling, arts and crafts sessions and the fun-filled Splash Waterpark where flumes, rapids and pools await.

What's more, there's a variety of apartments available to choose from depending on the size of your party and your budget, ensuring Butlin's is as inclusive as ever.

It's all about location, location, location at Butlin's Bognor Regis resort. Situated on the shore of an inviting sand and shingle beach, it's close to the South Downs National Park and attractions such as Arundel Castle, West Wittering and the compact city of Chichester.

Whether you're hopping on the merry-go-round in the traditional fairground, tackling crazy golf, go-karting, making a splash down the waterslides at the Art Deco-style swimming pool or watching a vibrant live show, there's so much to keep all ages entertained.

As for accommodation, there are three separate seaside themed hotels to choose from, ensuring there are lots of options for everyone, whatever your holiday budget.

Minehead

The largest of the resorts, Butlin's Minehead sits on the south coast of the Bristol Channel close to a national nature reserve, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and a short drive from Exmoor National Park. It also overlooks the beautiful beach at Minehead seafront.

It's all about space here with ample room to roam and explore. Of course, there are lots of things to do from fairground rides and games to live shows and concerts in the Sky Pavillion, an indoor swimming pool and outdoor paddling pool, and a variety of activities to choose from, too.

You can decide between chalets and seafront apartments, while the onsite restaurant is there to cater for every taste.
