FAQs

Can I use tethering (personal hotspot) with my eSIM?

It depends on your device and the provider of your Airalo eSIM*, but generally, yes, you can.

When does my Airalo eSIM expire?

Unless you use up all of your data beforehand, your Airalo eSIM* will last for the specified validity period. For example, if you purchase a seven-day eSIM, it will expire seven days from activation.

How can I avoid roaming charges when using my eSIM?

As long as you have set up your Airalo eSIM* correctly, your phone shouldn't use your physical SIM for data overseas. However, if you use up your eSIM allowance, your phone could automatically start connecting to your usual network provider, risking a hefty bill.

To prevent that, there are a few things you can do in your settings, such as: enable airplane mode before leaving your coverage area, disable or physically remove your primary SIM card, turn off data roaming for your primary SIM, or stop automatic mobile data switching on your device.
