Grand Cayman is the largest and most well known of these three low-lying Cayman Islands which lie due south of Cuba. Trade winds blow softly here making conditions particularly pleasant and balmy and even the rains are of the "liquid sunshine" variety with short, intense showers sandwiched between periods of brilliant sunshine.
The wettest months are May to November and, at this time, there is a chance of tropical storms or hurricanes hitting town. Temperatures are consistently hot all year but never excessive.
