WestJet returns to Scotland with new routes planned for 2022
Canadian airline WestJet is the first North American carrier to reinstate flights from Glasgow following the pandemic. It will recommence its route to Halifax, Nova Scotia from 3 May 2022, operating the route four times per week.
In addition, it is set to launch a new route from Glasgow to Toronto from 21 May 2022, which will also run four times per week.
Derek Provan, chief executive of AGS Airports, which owns Glasgow airport, said: "Our long-time airline partner WestJet has also chosen to strengthen its partnership with us further by expanding operations in Scotland to now include Toronto. This decision will be well received by the hundreds of thousands of passengers we welcome each year who have sorely missed the connectivity between our two countries during the last 16 months."
Finally, WestJet is planning to welcome passengers on another new route between Scotland and Canada, this time from Edinburgh to Toronto, which will begin on 2 June 2022, running three times per week.
Each flight will be operated by the airline's Boeing 737 Max aircraft.
